Research Brief 348 Video Summary

SRP NIEHS News video

"Toxic air pollutants called environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) may react with certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on the surface of airborne particles to form more toxic chemicals. The study, led by Slawomir Lomnicki, Ph.D., of the Louisiana State University SRP Center, demonstrated that interactions between components of fine particulate matter mixtures may enhance their overall toxicity."

In 2021, the Louisiana State University Superfund Research Center's Community Engagement Core is hosted a webinar series on community-engaged research in environmental health as part of the annual (virtual) Dellinger Symposium.  The webinar series was inspired by the environmental activism captured in the oral histories in Peggy Frankland's book Women Pioneers of the Louisiana Environmental Movement and will included some speakers and panelists from the book. Click here to learn more about the speakers and panelists. The recordings of the webinars are also available for viewing on the LSU SRP YouTube channel.
