Join the tradition

All family members of LSU students are invited to campus for a weekend of activities, programs, and the chance to see the LSU Tigers take on the University of South Alabama Jaguars under the lights of Tiger Stadium. Family Weekend allows parents and families to:

  • Spend valuable time with your Tiger
  • Explore campus, your Tiger's "home away from home"
  • Experience LSU traditions

Registration

Registration is required to participate in Family Weekend activities. Registration is now closed, and no late or onsite registration will be accepted.

August 20
The deadline to join the LSU Family Association in order to be eligible for priority registration for Family Weekend was Tuesday, August 20. 
August 22
Priority registration for Family Association members opened on Thursday, August 22 at 10 a.m. CDT. All Family Association members received an email on August 22 with the link to register and pay for their family members to attend Family Weekend. 
August 27
Registration opened for all LSU families.
September 15
Registration for all families closed on Sunday, September 15 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. No late or onsite registration will be accepted.

Package Details

Purple Package
Cost: $50 per family member and $50 per LSU student

Individual family members will have access to Family Weekend signature events on Friday and Saturday. These events include the Bengal Block Party on Friday (no food included) and the Family Weekend Tailgate on Saturday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet).

Gold Package - *SOLD OUT
Cost: $80 per family member and $80 per LSU student

Individual family members will have access to Family Weekend signature events for the entire weekend. These events include the Bengal Block Party on Friday (no food included), the Family Weekend Tailgate on Saturday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet), and Jazz Brunch on Sunday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet). The two options for time slots for the Jazz Brunch on Sunday, September 29 are 9–10:30 a.m. and 12–1:30 p.m. *This package is expected to sell out very quickly.

Please note:

  • You must register and pay for all family members attending Family Weekend signature events, including your LSU student.
  • There is no charge for children ages 5 and under to attend Family Weekend, but they must be listed on your registration form, so they will have a pass and lanyard to access the events.
  • Only registered family members will be allowed access to Family Weekend Events.
  • Your Family Weekend registration fee does not include football tickets, as those must be purchased separately after you complete your Family Weekend registration. For more information about ticket prices and policies, please visit our Football Tickets page.
  • All payments for LSU Family Weekend will be made using a credit card on the registration form. There is a 3% processing fee for all transactions.
  • Registrations are non-refundable.

The tentative schedule for Family Weekend 2024 is below. More details and events will be added as Family Weekend approaches.

Family Weekend Check-In

Registered participants should check in to pick up your Family Weekend materials, including access badges, souvenirs, and t-shirts (if you pre-ordered them) prior to attending your first event.

Tigers Tackle Hunger: Family Weekend Service Project
12–1 p.m. and 2–3 p.m. 
Royal Cotillion Ballroom, LSU Student Union

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference! In partnership with LSU Campus Life, we’re hosting a special meal-packing event that’s perfect for family members of all ages, from 1 to 99, and all abilities. Our goal is to have 450 enthusiastic family members help us pack 100,000 meals for those in need. Families can register for one of our two time slots on Friday, September 27: 12–1 p.m. or 2–3 p.m., and make sure to arrive on time and stay for the full hour. We’ll provide everything you need, from stylish hairnets to music that will keep the energy high as you pack meals with your loved ones. The meals you prepare will be distributed to our community partners, including the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, Family & Youth Services, Second Harvest Food Bank (Lafayette), and Second Harvest Food Bank (New Orleans). *Registration will open soon - stay tuned for the link to register for this special event!

Vintage Voices: About a Century of Shenanigans in the LSU Student Press

Hill Memorial Library

Bring your family for this open house event to rediscover the LSU student experience. LSU Special Collections will showcase a century of memories through student magazines, yearbooks, and newspapers.

African American Cultural Center (AACC) Open House
2-4 p.m.
Clarence L. Barney Jr. African American Cultural Center - 86 Raphael Semmes Rd.

LSU alumni and friends are welcome to visit the AACC, recalling times of the past (perhaps moments they shared in the AACC) and learn more about what the AACC has to offer current Tigers. Hear from the AACCs' four student groups, including the Black Student Union (BSU) and Black Women's Empowerment Initiative (BWEI). We'll have snacks, games, photobooth, and student engagement information.

Bengal Block Party
5:30–8:30 p.m.

Tower Drive
*Must be registered for the Purple or Gold Package in order to attend. 

Join us for our signature event to officially kick off Family Weekend! There will be games, music, and plenty of fun for the whole family. Food trucks will be available to purchase snacks on your own. Registrants can also bring in outside food or beverages. This will be an outdoor event (weather permitting). 

Family Association Game Night*

Family Association members are invited to enjoy a Bingo night! There will be two rounds of games – the first round will be held from 8:10–9 p.m., and the second round will be held from 9:10–10 p.m.

Arriving on Saturday? Registered participants can visit the second floor of the Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore to pick up your Family Weekend materials, including access badges, souvenirs , and t-shirts (if you pre-ordered them) prior to the Tailgate. Access badges will be required for entry into the Family Weekend Tailgate.

Tailgating is an LSU Tradition! Join us for the biggest tailgate on the Parade Ground with food, live music, special appearances, inflatables, a photo booth, face painting, cornhole tournament, and more! Look for our white tents, Family Weekend flags, and balloons. Even if you are not attending the football game, you are welcome to join the fun and attend the tailgate as long as you are pre-registered for the purple or gold package. Family Weekend Cornhole Tournament
1 p.m.
LSU Parade Ground

Only families registered for the Family Weekend Tailgate are eligible to participate in the Cornhole Tournament. Teams consist of two people. Stay tuned for more details. 

PMAC Fan Zone
1:30–5:30 p.m.
Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC)

The PMAC will be open to the public with access to restrooms and is a great place for fans to take a break from the heat. The Tiger Band will perform in the PMAC after the Victory Hill Parade.

Definitely! Family Weekend is for everyone to enjoy, no matter their age.

There is no charge for children ages 5 and under to attend Family Weekend, but they must be listed on your registration form, so they receive an access badge. 

Arrival, Parking, & Other

If you want to take full advantage of the opportunities available throughout the weekend, we encourage you to arrive by Friday morning (September 27). We will host educational sessions, meet-and-greets, and more throughout Friday. The tailgate and football game will be held on Saturday, and the weekend will culminate with a Jazz Brunch on Sunday. More details about the Family Weekend 2024 schedule will be posted on our schedule of events as they become available.
