Bachelor of Science Programs

Programs Overview

The Department houses three Bachelor of Science Degrees:

A Bachelor of Science in Construction Management equips students to lead construction projects by combining technical skills with business and project management principles. The program covers estimating, scheduling, safety, and construction law, with hands-on experience through internships and industry partnerships. Graduates are prepared for careers as project managers, estimators, or field engineers in residential, commercial, and industrial construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations and quality standards.

A Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering blends civil engineering principles with construction management practices. Students learn structural analysis, materials, surveying, project planning, and safety, along with design and technical problem-solving. The program prepares graduates to manage and engineer complex construction projects, ensuring structural integrity and efficiency. With a strong foundation in math and science, students pursue careers as construction engineers, project managers, or field engineers in infrastructure, commercial, and industrial construction sectors.

The Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) at LSU is a 2+2 degree completion program designed to prepare students for leadership roles in fire services, EMS, and emergency management. Students begin with an associate degree, such as LSUE’s AAS in Fire and Emergency Services, and transfer into LSU’s FEMA program. The curriculum integrates theoretical and applied learning, and includes minors in Construction Management and Disaster Science. Offered both on campus and online, the program supports career advancement, workforce development, and emergency response capacity across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region.
