Watch this panel of current and alumni undergraduate researcher panelists answer questions from students.
In this four part video series we will help walk you through some steps to start your undergraduate research journey, plus provide additional insight and tips on your undergraduate research options and experiences at LSU.
Each Fall, LSU students who wish to submit an application for a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship are encouraged to enroll in this workshop series during which you will learn from faculty about the fellowship and how best to craft your application essays.
Students can apply twice for the NSF GRF, once when you are a senior in college and again when you are in your first year of graduate school. We strongly encourage our senior undergraduates who plan to pursue graduate education to apply for this fellowship.
The NSF GRFP workshop series is co-sponsored by LSU Discover, the Honors College, and the Graduate School.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship is a prestigious three-year grant that provides a graduate student with a $37,000/year stipend plus $16,000/year in cost of education allowance to the institution. If you are a college senior in disciplines supported by NSF (see below), you should consider applying for this Fellowship.
Eligible disciplines are: Chemistry; Engineering (all subfields); Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering; Geosciences; Life Sciences; Materials Research; Mathematical Sciences; Physics and Astronomy; Social Sciences; Psychology; STEM Education and Learning Research.
You MUST be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident to be eligible to apply!
