Biography

Rick Portier is journalist with more than 35 years’ broadcasting experience covering news along the Gulf Coast, first as a photojournalist, and later as a reporter. He is recipient of a National Edward R. Murrow award for feature reporting and multiple regional Emmy Awards.

He has produced documentaries on the Sex Trafficking in Louisiana, and Baton Rouge Police Department’s Homicide Detectives.

He currently teaches Broadcast and Digital Journalism.
